Welcome To Day 8 of How To Make Money Blogging With Purpose
Today You’ll learn How to Install a WordPress Blog
If you don’t know why we’re using WordPress, go back and read about the WordPress Blog Platform.
Now Let’s install WordPress.
I’m going to assume that you followed my advice and purchased the hosting plan of your choice at www.RealDomainSuccess.com.
If you did, then installation is a snap. That’s because Real Domain Success.com will install the blog for you.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Click Web Hosting
- Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
*Depending on the hosting account you chose you may see an “Applications” tab
*Once you log onto your account you’ll have 2 choices. To use the website builder or to install WordPress.
4. Choose “Install WordPress”
Now Install your blog. All you have to do is complete your installation by following the onscreen instructions, where you’ll be asked to provide information such as your desired blog admin username, password and other information.
Here’s what you’ll do::
- Choose a title for your website ( you can change it later if you like)
- Choose your log in admin information and password.
- Leave the installation directory blank
Explanation:: You are being asked where you’d like to install WP – specifically or which directory on your domain. You don’t need to install WordPress on n a sub-directory.. You’ll want to install it on your “root” directory, so that anyone who goes to www.yourdomain.com immediately sees your blog. As such, leave “Install on Directory” blank so that your blog is in your main/root directory.
When you’ve finished filling out the short form on this screen, click the “Install WordPress” button.
Real Domain Success.com will install WordPress for you.
You’ll now be taken to a screen which tells you how to log into your new blog. The link should look something like this:
Be sure and make note of the log in page information (If you enter your email address it will be sent to you)
